About amité

amité UK Ltd

“If you are over thirty and single, it can be very difficult to meet new people and expand your social life. I feel that  a friendly social atmosphere is a much more natural way to meet new people than impersonal dating sites or expensive introductory agencies. This is why, on Valentines Day 2004, I launched amité with a spectacular Ball ...a perfect beginning. Since then, many hundreds of people have joined amité from all over Devon and Cornwall, bringing single people together who otherwise would never have met.”

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Helen gained years of experience organizing events when she founded and ran a highly successful club for single people in the Plymouth area back in the early 90's. When she was selected by the BBC to do the documentary Ditch The Day Job, she saw it as a great opportunity to develop her concept further.

You may have been among the millions of people all over Britain who watched the programme on BBC2 as the story of amité was shown from its first conception to its launch Ball which was a fabulous and glittering success, attended by over 300 people.
The Programme was also TV Pick of the Day in many of the National papers, including the Telegraph and The Mail.

Both of Devon's most prestigious glossy publications, Devon life and Devon Today, have featured Helen in full page editorials.

The second amité Valentines Ball was held at Boringdon Hall in 2005 and was featured on Westcountry TV. Helen has appeared many times in both local and regional press and she has done many interviews over the years for radio. Her most memorable were as guest of Judi Spiers and also Howard James; both well known BBC Radio Devon presenters.

Helen is very proud that amité and its members have raised many hundreds of pounds for local charities, including The Devon Air Ambulance, BBC Chestnut Appeal and the Neo-natal ICU at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
